Providers are ranked by the average composite score of all their models. This score combines benchmark performance, pricing, context window size, recency, and capability breadth into a single 0-100 metric updated hourly.
Market share here reflects the number of models each provider offers through OpenRouter, not revenue or user adoption. A provider with many model variants will show a larger share than one with fewer but more popular models.
The provider with the highest average score is shown at the top of the Provider Rankings table. However, the best provider depends on your needs -- some excel in raw performance while others lead in pricing or model variety.
