A model is trending when it posts a meaningful rank improvement versus the latest weekly snapshot or enters the leaderboard after that snapshot. "Hot" models are large movers or fresh entries, while "rising" and "falling" reflect real archived movement.
This page uses the latest weekly snapshot as its historical baseline, then compares that archived ranking with the current live catalog. The page refreshes with the live cache, but the movement numbers are not synthetic 24-hour estimates.
Ranking changes happen when competitors release updates, pricing changes occur, new benchmarks are added, or model capabilities are updated. A model can drop without getting worse - simply because a competitor improved.
